What first sparked your passion for sailing, and how did you get started?

I got into sailing through my local club at a young age. What started as trying something new quickly became a passion. I loved the independence of being on the water, the technical side of boat setup, and the competitive challenge. Over time, that passion turned into dedication, and I began training and competing seriously.

What has been your most memorable experience on the water?

My favourite moment in sailing was winning the WASZP World Championship. That event meant everything to me. It represented years of hard work, early mornings, physical training, boat preparation, and learning from setbacks. Standing there knowing that the work had paid off was an unforgettable feeling and a huge milestone in my journey.

How do you hope this scholarship will help you achieve your sailing goals?

My goals for this year are to continue improving physically and technically, compete strongly at major international events, and build on the momentum from last season. I want to keep developing as an athlete, represent my supporters professionally, and push towards consistently performing at the highest international level.

If you could have any sailing-related superpower, what would it be?

If I could have any superpower, it would be the ability to control the wind. As a sailor, everything we do depends on the wind — its strength, direction, and shifts. Being able to control it would mean adapting instantly to any situation and performing at the highest level every time. More importantly, it reflects why I love sailing: learning to work with something you can’t control and making the absolute most of it.
