This is an exciting role to identify and support the development of individuals from unrepresented backgrounds with medal winning potential. The successful candidate needs to be passionate about sailing and willing to go the extra mile to support their sailor’s development.

The Lead Coach will connect with and deliver the Andrew Simpson Foundation community engagement programmes and run the talent identification initiatives within the academy. The coach would also lead the year-round coaching programme and support sailors as they begin to travel to events.

The essential coaching skills for this role include:

  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of junior and youth classes, experience with Toppers is desirable.
  • Ability to plan, develop, and deliver safe, effective, and appropriate coaching sessions to enable the development of young people, from grassroots sailing through to youth squad level.
  • Experience of taking sailors to events and supporting them.
  • Practical knowledge of maintenance to lead the maintenance sailing related equipment.

The contract is a full-time role (40hrs per week, weekend work will be required), salary is £28-30K based on experience and located at the Andrew Simpson Centre Birmingham.
